Random Post

One of the things that I love about being in the barn, is that I have so much around me. I have totes of all kind of things, fabric in totes stacked to the top! I could go on and on. One number one thing that I just love doing are my dolls. I put so much love and effort into making them. I make them from scratch with my own pattern to my own technique of how to stuff them. There is so much that I have to do to make them there own but I love every moment of it. I go from even spinning their out of Murano wool the I dyed.
I love how I can create them and make them into what I want. I have what I want set in my mind and then I'am on the go from there on out. Even though my dolls do take a couple days, but if I stay on one I can get them done in no time. People always ask me," do you make male dolls?' Yes I do. I have made many of them. They also ask" Can you make a baby safe doll.' Yes I can do that too. I do go into a lot of detail with my dolls, but if you want to give one to a younger kid, then I don't put small objects or anything that they can swallow. I gave one to my niece a while back, she still has it too and she was 4! She may have a dirty face and a stain here and there, but she was 4! They can be lightly hand washed. just to put it out there.
I have created so many dolls in my life and i know the pattern has came a long ways. I will not give out my pattern because it is something I made. Or something that I don't want copied. like any artist would want. I wanted to post some pictures of my dolls. Not sure if they might be a double from one of the last post I did. But I think I talked.. well wrote enough for today.. Thinking about doing some tips here soon. If you have any thing that you want to know more about leave me a message!

Mermaids kiss..Esty Store

I wanted to show you guys what I have been working on lately. With 3 Esty stores now, work is in a full go! I wanted to share some pictures of what I have on there and what I have been doing. This first picture is one of my favorites. I love these earrings. They are very light weight on the ears, and are Sterling Silver so if you have sensitive ears, it wont bother them. These beads are my lamp work. Embellished with matte, with Bella Donna Silver glass..

The earrings bellow remind me of a fall disco ball. They sure are fun earrings. They can be worn all year round, but i personally think that these would make any fall outfit pop and perfect! These hooks are Rose Gold so they wont bug your ears. Witch makes any women happy. The chains are Copper chain, and they are 2 1/2 inches.

The Core in this lamp work bead is a clear core, with a purple and green dot. The hooks are Sterling Silver, so once again it wont bug your ears. These earrings look good with any hair color and fun to show off..these guys are 2 1/2 inches

The earrings below were really fun to make. They are my lamp work beads, with a matte finish. The colors in there are mix Blues, Turquoise and Ivory. In between the glass beads are a Turquoise Bead.  These guys are 2 inches long.

One of my most complemented earrings are these guys. They are the perfect flower earrings. Light on the ears and the Stirling Silver really makes them happy. (yeah I know, say that a lot) lol. The beads are my lamp work, with pastel pink flowers and a hint of green. These puppys are 3 inches long.

I love my job, and that is my art, my creations, my dolls, and everything else I can come up with. I love the heat of the torch, the feel of fabric, the calming of spinning but not so much the smell of the dyeing ;-) My art of whatever I create is my life and that is all I do. I put so much love and detail into everything I make. I love coming up with new challenges and new ideas. Getting my hands dirty is the way to go. My shop is my mom and dads barn. I pretty much took it over, well mainly the bottom floor...for now.. That is where I create everything and do my classes.. Its my second home.

Some doll pics

I wanted to post some pictures of some of the dolls I make.

This doll above was made from a wedding dress. All my dolls are my own
pattern, I hand sew them. They have joints so you can move them and place
However you would like. They are made to last! I felt their shoes and hair.(And most
of their dresses too) I had paint their eyes and glue their lashes on!

This doll is a great gift for someone who likes to cook! Shes the little miss baker,
with a removable apron and oven mitt, she also comes with a spoon. These are                                                                       just some of the many dolls I make.

Getting Started!!

HELLO.. there! And welcome! My name is Marie and I'am the creator of Spilledpaint!   Here's the web site if you want to check it out, www.spilledpaint.com . You can also check my out on Esty at www.esty.com/people/spilledpaint  and make sure you check out my other store Mermaids kiss at www.esty.com/people/marieelizabethcarter ! On my Esty stores you will find Dolls, Nuno felted scarfs, scarfs, felting supplies, hand spoon art yarn, jewelry, lampwork, and beads! I'am working on another Esty store for my Up-cycled items like made over benches, my handmade sweater monsters, mixed media and redneck whine glasses!

I made this blog to let you have sneak peaks into the shop and helpful tips and tricks for the craft and art lovers! I'm still getting used to this blog thing but give me time and sure enough it will get better! Now maybe I should tell you a little bite about myself!!

Although I was born in Northwestern Illinois, I discovered and refined much of my craft today in the Panhandle of Florida. There, next to emerald waters and a cotton-candy skyline, I worked with local artist and craft-makers using torch, needle, and wheel to mold raw materials into beautiful crafts. I have been many places and have met some amazing people. I do nothing but what I love, my art. Its the only job I have. I have big dreams and I know I can do it! I just started this blog and soon even youtube! Next Ill be taking over the world..bahaha..lol jk

"Art is my life! I can never seem to get enough of it. No matter what the medium is, I love the smell of wet paint, the heat of the torch, feel of fibers while spinning, or the comfort from sewing."
